John Thorne is the son of Patricia Boyden Thorne and the late Glen Thorne. He grew up in Perry County, OH and graduated from Fisher Catholic High School. John earned a degree film and video production at Hocking College and moved to Columbus to pursue his career. Lucky that his career took him to Columbus, as he was fortunate to meet Jenn at an art gallery in the Short North of Columbus in 2010. John moved out of state with Jenn from mid-2010 through 2012, residing in Connecticut and St. Louis, MO, but is now back in Columbus working as a shooter and editor.

Jennifer Smith, often called Jenn or Jenny only by immediate family, is the daughter of Patricia Stidham, always called Tish, currently living in Winston-Salem, NC and Bryan Smith currently living in Bloomington, Indiana. Jennifer was born in Missouri but grew up in central North Carolina and graduated from high school from Mt. Tabor High School in Winston-Salem. After earning a degree in History with a minor in Political Science, Jennifer embarked on a career in political fundraising. The political campaigns she worked on took her all around the country, including work in North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Connecticut, and Missouri, and she was fortunate to meet John in 2010 while working on the US Senate campaign in Ohio. Jennifer is currently pursuing a career in non-profit fundraising, which should allow the couple to both live in one place for more than a few years and establish some roots in Central Ohio.
